Craving Mexican food but could do without the copious amounts of fat, sugar and calories that comes with it? Don't worry, I've got the answer to all your Mexican food based dreams with my Healthy, Low Fat (and high protein!) Burritos. Although I've served the mince in wraps to make burritos, its also fantastic with rice or even noodles! Give it a try & let me know what you think.
Rich chocolate cheesecake with a crumbly biscuit base topped with fresh juicy cherries & drizzled with smooth dark chocolate. Sounds like a seriously tasty way to ruin your diet doesn't it. Well this recipe is completely macro friendly! SAY WHAT?! Yep, with a few healthier substitutions I've created this epic recipe with thanks to Ascent Native Fuel Micellar Casein Protein Powder and my genius brain :-p
Lasagna is a family favourite, but it can be seriously heavy on calories. My version is just as tasty, but is up to half the number of calories per portion! In order to achieve this I've made a few tweaks to the recipe which includes using Blend Bro's new sugar free ketchup (yes I said ketchup!) which adds a really rich tomato flavour to the meat sauce, without all the sugar. Dish it up for you & your family & I promise you they won't notice the difference!
Sweet, sticky BBQ pulled pork is usually something that is saved for cheat day, but not anymore! You can make your own healthier version using my recipe which uses Blend Bros Sugar Free BBQ sauce. I like to serve mine in little gem lettuce leaves with lots of topping options like smashed avocado, spicy salsa, Greek yoghurt and spring onion. It's also great in a wrap or served with some Mexican rice. Give it a try & let me know what you think.
Do you love a Nandos? Who doesn't! If so, you'll LOVE this recipe. What you'll love even more is that it's super simple but seriously delivers in the taste department. I've made the rice from scratch, but to save on time (& a whole lot of effort) I've used Blend Bros fab new sugar free Peri Peri sauce which I'm a huge fan of. You can tailor this recipe to your taste so don't worry if you're not a fan of spice, you can omit the chilli (you big pansy!)
This recipe is SO simple, the most technical part - the sauce has been taken care of by using Blend Bros awesome sugar free BBQ sauce. It's so authentic tasting, not like so many other sugar free sauces that just taste like chemicals! A normal portion of BBQ chicken wings would contain at least 15g of sugar, mine contains less than 5g in the entire portion!
I've combined two 4 of my favourite things in the recipe. Oats, protein, white chocolate & raspberries. But I've left out the usual butter, sugar and syrup you'd usually find in traditional flapjacks. Instead I've sweetened them with Bodybuilding Warehouse White Chocolate & Raspberry Whey Protein which is SO good & also chunks of their new Warrior Crunch bars which take them to another level! Don't worry if you don't have these, you can sub the bars for white chocolate chips, however I urge you to try them, some of the best protein bars I've ever had (and I've tried ALOT!).
Energise your day with this power-packed green protein smoothie. I've used a selection of ingredients which are not only tasty but are known for there energising properties, whilst Good Hemp's raw protein powder provides your body with protein it needs to repair and recover after exercise. Use frozen fruit or add ice cubes to take this smoothie to the next level!
I've packed these protein crispy cakes full of protein crispies, dried cranberries, sugar free marshmallows, sugar free white & dark chocolate and plenty of dried cranberries so you'll never know they are a healthier, much lower sugar version of your favourite crispy cakes.
This smoothie is packed with powerful antioxidants from the berries and spirulina, it also contains turmeric which is great natural anti-inflammatory. This tasty, power packed smoothie also provides your body with a hefty protein hit from Good Hemp's vegan protein powder. Perfect for an on-the-go breakfast or to re-fuel post workout.

This POWER smoothie is packed with slow release carbs from oats, protein from Good Hemp's raw hemp protein powder and healthy fats from hazelnuts and hemp milk.
If you follow me on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook or Snap Chat you'll already know I LOVE anything peanut related, and what goes well with peanuts? Chocolate of course! Even if you're not a vegan you'll love these super easy Chocolate & Peanut Vegan Protein Bars which I made using Good Hemp's fantastic range of hemp based products.
Personally I am not vegan, but I like to create recipes that everyone can enjoy which is how these Cranberry, Cashew & Hemp Raw Vegan Bars came to be! I used Good Hemp's fantastic products for this recipe. I'm a big fan of their range as I find it doesn't have such a strong earthy taste that you can get with other brands. These bars are ideal as a post workout treat or a healthy snack throughout the day - enjoy!
I've never created a vegan recipe before, well not intentionally anyway! But when Reflex Nutrition kindly sent me a tub of their vegan protein powder I thought I'd give it ago! I know there isn't many protein bars available to those on vegan diets so I thought I'd provide a recipe for some that you can make yourself! Even if you're not a vegan these bars are seriously delicious and not to mention SO easy to make.
It's been a while since I've had a guest recipe on the blog so it had to be a special one! I love this fantastic recipe from Hognuts ambassador Vian of Vees Fitness Foods for her indulgent Double Chocolate Cheesecake Bars.
Cottage pie was one of my favourite meals as a child. There’s something so comforting about meat in gravy covered with mashed potato. Now don’t get me wrong, there is nothing wrong as such with the classic recipe, but it’s pretty calorie laden. My version is just as tasty and comforting but with a few substitutes halves the number of calories in a standard portion. How I hear you cry?! Well I’ll tell you…
Warm, comforting chilli without all the fat and carbs of the classic recipe!
Everyone loves a burger, but it’s usually something we save for a treat and not normally something you’d expect to indulge in mid-week on a healthy diet. Until now! These burgers are made with leaner turkey thigh mince which has enough fat to keep them moist and juicy, but less than beef mince. It’s flavoured with Blend Brothers Thai Jungle Curry Savoury Blend which adds all the traditional Thai flavours without having to buy lots of ingredients. It’s also enriched with protein to boost the overall protein content of your meal. Win-win!
These burgers are so insanely easy to make I can barely even call this a recipe. But there’s what you’ll need and how to make your own.
Now you might be thinking how difficult is it to cook some steak and whack it on a salad. Well, this is no ordinary salad! The trick is in how you prepare the steak to make it as succulent and juicy as possible. It can then be enjoyed hot or cold, so if you need to pre prepare your meals and take them with out to work this recipe is a must! I’m not a fan of cold steak at all. In fact I’d go as far to say as I really don’t like it. BUT preparing the steak like this its succulent, juicy and full of flavour whether you then enjoy it hot or cold.
Juicy strawberries filled with a creamy protein filling coated in thick dark chocolate and white chocolate drizzle.
There ain’t nothing better than a good old roast potato. Crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside. Many chefs will have you believe that you need duck fat for the best roasties, but I disagree! For the perfect roast potatoes I always use coconut oil. These aren’t just any old roast potatoes either! These are coated in Blend Bros Savoury Blend which is deliciously spicy blend of spices which has been enriched with protein. This will add awesome flavour, but will also add to your daily protein quota!
Unless you’ve been living under a rock you’ve probably heard of cauliflower ‘rice’. There are now countless recipes with various different takes on this low carb classic, but you won’t find anything like this one! It’s jam packed with flavour, and is barely recognisable as cauliflower any more. I promise you this as I really dislike the white flowery stuff. I topped it with some super lean and healthy pan fried squid. Don’t panic if you’ve never cooked it before, if you follow my simple instructions it will be nice and tender (not a rubber band in site!)
Who doesn’t love a cheesy pasta bake? It reminds me of being a kid and coming in from the cold to the smell of cheese bubbling under the grill mmmmm. But it’s not renowned for being the healthiest of dishes, so I decided to ‘Protein Chef’ the old classic by adding plenty of protein, removing some of the fat but keeping all that delicious flavour we know and love. I promise it doesn’t disappoint – give it a try and find out!
