Who doesn’t love a cheesy pasta bake? It reminds me of being a kid and coming in from the cold to the smell of cheese bubbling under the grill mmmmm. But it’s not renowned for being the healthiest of dishes, so I decided to ‘Protein Chef’ the old classic by adding plenty of protein, removing some of the fat but keeping all that delicious flavour we know and love. I promise it doesn’t disappoint – give it a try and find out!
Prep: 15 mins
Cook: 30 mins
Yields: 1-2 Servings
Ingredients
100g wholemeal pasta (or to boost the protein content even further use protein pasta)
135g tuna in brine (that’s 1 drained tin)
100g baby tomatoes
55g Blend Brothers Tomato Chorizo Savoury Blend
150ml off the boil water
50g grated half fat cheddar (or reduce the fat content even further by using this fat free cheese)
Directions
1Begin by cooking the pasta as per the packet instructions and draining off the water.
2Add the boiled water to the Blend Brothers Tomato Chorizo Savoury Blend and give it a good stir.
3Pour this over the pasta and add the tuna.
4Stir this together then transfer to an oven proof dish.
5Decorate the top with the baby tomatoes sliced in half, then finish with the grated cheese.
6Pop this under the grill until the cheese melts, turns golden brown and begins to bubble.
